Wonky Wednesday Is BACK on March 18th

Sometimes the best ideas come from the most unexpected places.

Earlier last year at Avorium, we decided to try something a little different - and it turned into one of our most successful (and heart-warming) sales days ever.

We called it Wonky Wednesday.

As a family-run business specialising in personalised products, quality and attention to detail are everything to us. But when you’re creating custom pieces, especially during busy seasons, the occasional hiccup is inevitable. A name might be misspelt. A date might be wrong. A customer might change their mind after production.

The result? Products that are perfectly usable - and still beautiful - but not quite right.

We affectionately call them our wonky stock.

Instead of letting these items sit on shelves or, worse, go to waste, we decided to give them a second chance.

And just like that, Wonky Wednesday was born.

£1. One Day. Hundreds of Happy Customers.

For one day only, we opened up our collection of damaged-but-beautiful personalised stationery and sold every item for just £1.

The response was incredible.

Hundreds of products found new homes in a single day. Our York shop was buzzing with new faces - many visiting us for the very first time. Online engagement soared, not just for wonky items but across our entire range. The excitement spread quickly, and the atmosphere was something really special.

People loved the concept:

  • Sustainable shopping

  • Completely one-of-a-kind finds

  • A genuine bargain

  • The thrill of not knowing what you might discover

Some customers even stumbled across items already personalised with their own name - like the universe had planned it all along.

Good for the Planet, Great for You

One of the most rewarding parts of Wonky Wednesday is its impact.

Behind every personalised notebook, folio or phone stand is a material footprint. By finding homes for our wonky pieces, we reduce waste and give perfectly functional products the life they deserve.

It’s sustainability in action - without compromising on creativity, quality or joy.

The event also introduced us to a whole new wave of customers. From students hunting for affordable finds to eco-conscious shoppers looking for thoughtful alternatives, Wonky Wednesday opened our doors wider - and we couldn’t be prouder of that.

And Now… We’re Doing It Again

The good news? Wonky Wednesday returns on March 18th.
